Description of tasks
The objectives of the work are:
- Maintenance and evolution of Bioeconomy Observatory Portal, developed in Drupal
- Development and integration of Open Data Portal technologies (e.g. CKAN) and
codelists/controlled vocabularies (e.g. EuroVoc, SPARQL)
- Integration of data visualization solutions, including Tableau and D3.js libraries
- Integration of Data Access solutions, via Rest Services
The results of the work will be:
- The successful maintenance and evolution of the Bioeconomy Observatory portal with a view
to establishing the 2nd generation ICT platform of the JRC’s BeO work package
- Successful development of an Open Data Catalogue
- Successful integration of Open Data Portals, Controlled Vocabularies and data visualization
solutions
Description of tasks:
The following tasks will be performed by the Senior Web Consultant:
- Ensuring the correct deployment and operations of the Bioeconomy Observatory Portal
- Evolution of the portal, implementing additional features and functionalities which will
emerge over time, as identified by the Project Team
- Integration with Data Portals services and technologies, with the aim of correctly displaying
and referencing source data
- Integration of Controlled Vocabularies and Glossaries, to support the correct categorization
and taxonomy of the Portal content
- Development and integration of data visualization solutions
Knowledge and Skills:
The following expertise is required:
- Knowledge of Drupal and experience in the deployment and management of Drupal Portals
- Good knowledge of PHP and Python languages
- Experience in web page design, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Experience with RedHat Linux, Apache Httpd and MySQL relational database would be an
asset
- Knowledge of relational database systems
- Proactive, rapid and self-starting attitude
- Good command of English
- Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment
